Returning Home: The Next Generation of Veterans
(Department of Veterans Affairs)
The Challenge: A new generation of veteran amputees is returning home from war in Afghanistan and Iraq. This ‘wired’ generation is less tolerant of delays and more interested in taking pro-active steps in their own rehabilitation and recovery. How can the VA communicate this new set of expectations to VA employees who have spent a large part of their careers caring for WW II, Korean, and Viet Nam war era veterans?
The Solution: Produce a powerful, award-winning documentary that tells the story of three veterans who have lost limbs in combat in Afghanistan and Iraq – and follows their road to recovery through the VA healthcare system.
